A Year On From My Second Spinal Operation

 

Scoliosis is an abnormal curvature of the spine, if untreated it can cause terrible affects like respiratory problems, cardiac problems, a very noticeable hump, severe pain and terrible posture, if left to progress aggressively these symptoms too progress. As well as the physical side to it, mental state is also affected; developing anxiety or depression.

Hannah Bury is the next amazing scoliosis warrior to be featured on my #ScoliosisStories series, Hannah has had two surgeries to date for her scoliosis, the latter being very recent so she is still in the recovery period. She has told me she had a recent scare and had to go to hospital for fear of infections. However now she is doing well.

Today, something I've been wanting to do since starting CiaraSwalsh is finally happening! I am officially starting the Scoliosis Stories series! I'm kicking it off with a story by someone very dear to me, someone who helped me with my recent operation and who I am very grateful to. I asked Emma would she take part and be the first to share her Scoliosis Story. When she agreed I was just so delighted. So thank you Emma!
