Best Things To Do In NYC

I believe once you see New York, your life will change forever. It is such a special city full of diversity and beauty. I was lucky enough to spend four days there at the end of January. I have put together a list of the best places to see while you're there!

1. TIMES SQUARE

You either love or hate Times Square; my experience there was quite a dramatic one. We got to New York during, I kid you not, -27℃. We got there, covered from head to toe in the warmest layers we had, showing only our eyes. The Square was almost empty, not many people there at all! So at least we knew nobody would be able to pickpocket us haha! It was definitely beautiful but we had to leave within 5 minutes as we felt the water in our eyes began freezing! I would love to head back during normal weather to see the chaos that is Times Sq.

2. CENTRAL PARK

Central Park stole my heart. Even in winter time it was stunning, everything was frozen. There are so many spots in the park to see. My favourites would be the ice skating (during winter months), a massive rocky area close by where you get a stunning view of all the skyscrapers in the distance, Bow Bridge, and Bethesda Terrace and Fountain, famously known as *GG SPOILER ALERT* where Chuck and Blair got married! I know in warmer months it's possible to go rowing on the water in Central Park.

3. THE MET

Maybe you have guessed that i am a fan of Gossip Girl, but all girls must have the chance to sit on the Met steps. Inside is definitely even more fab. If you don't know, this is where the Met Gala is hosted every year. If you're just an art lover the Metropolitan Museum of Art is also known for being the largest art museum in the USA holding some of the worlds most famous and beautiful works of art.

3. TOP OF THE ROCK

This was definitely one of my absolute favourite things to do during my trip to NYC. Going to the top of the Rockefeller Centre has been on my bucket list for as long as I can remember. You get the most stunning view of NYC as well as the majestic Empire State Building. I would highly recommend going one hour before sunset, so you can experience the sky changing colours before you. You can book tickets online or when you get there. There wasn't a queue when we went, however I went during off peak season.

4. FLAT IRON BUILDING

You probably see this building plastered all over Instagram. It is literally shaped like an Iron. I found it to be absolutely beautiful and definitely a must see. Eataly (mentioned in my NYC Eats post) is right next to it so why not treat yourself with a plate of pasta while you're at it!

5. GROUND ZERO

When coming to New York, I knew I had to go pay my respects to all those who lost their lives in 9/11, and it is definitely worth a visit when you are there. It really makes you think about life and how fragile it really is.

6. ONE WORLD TRADE CENTRE

This is something we didn't do, buT was recommended to us, to go to the observatory and see all of NYC, having already done Top of the Rock we felt we would pass on this one this time, however it's still on our bucket list. The skyscraper in itself is jawdroppingly beautiful and is worth a visit.

7. DUMBO

Dumbo was definitely up there with the best things I've seen in NYC. It's an area in Brooklyn by the water where you get a fantastic view of both Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan Bridge, as well as all of Manhattan. Go to the corner of Washington and Water Streets where you get the most picturesque view!

8. BROOKLYN BRIDGE

You absolutely HAVE to walk the Brooklyn bridge, my tip is to get an Uber over to Dumbo and chill out there, then walk back to Manhattan over Brooklyn Bridge, it's probably my most memorable memory from the trip, the scenes are out of this world. I also thought it would take ages, but time taken (including stopping to take photos every two seconds) was only 40 minutes!

9. RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL

The famous venue of the Rockettes, Radio City Music Hall is one of the most famous venues to watch shows. Unfortunately we couldn't go to one so I ran out in front of traffic to get a picture taken haha. At Christmas time it's lit up all beautifully!

10. GRAND CENTRAL

You can't go to New York and not go to Grand Central Station, did you know there's an Apple Store there? I didn't! Being in the station really gives you a sense of the hustle and bustle of New York City.

If you're going to NYC soon, I hope this post was a huge help to you. I already want to go back!

"One belongs to New York instantly, one belongs to it as much in five minutes as in five years"
-Tom Wolfe.

  19. Web designers are responsible for developing the look, feel, organization, and graphics content of a website. Some web designers only specialize in creating the graphic content and raw look of a site. At this stage, it is little more than an image. It is then giving to a web developer who will cut it up and code it to make the site function. More and more web designers now are expected to know the coding side of web design which includes coding languages such as HTML, DHTML, Javascript, Actionscript, PHP, CSS, Jquery, and so on.
