Why Galway Is The Best Place To Be When The Sun Is Out

You can't deny it, Galway is probably one of the most beautiful cities in Ireland. It's quirky nature and friendly ambiance really makes Galway unique from the rest of Ireland. Galway really has so many amazing aspects, we have the beautiful Connemara, one of the only places in Ireland where Irish is still spoken, the sea, and when the sun is out, it just booms with people.

We all know that when it rains in Galway, it bloody rains. But when it's sunny it's as if we're in another country!

I had an amazing shoot with Lauren around the Claddagh when the tide was out and it was just incredible. Every time I shoot with her I become more and more amazed at how talented she is. The Claddagh is probably my favourite part of Galway so shooting there was very special to me.

The Latin Quater

The place with all the ceoil agus craic. Go from day to night sitting outside with some lunch and a glass of wine to dancing on the streets to trad music from the nearby pubs!

Spanish Arch

Gather round, bring your guitar, your friends and some drinks and just relax under the glorious sun.

The Claddagh

Same again, get out there and sunbathe. Take in the views of the colourful long walk and hang out with the local swans!

Blackrock

There's nothing better then jumping off Blackrock on a sunny day with friends followed by some sunbathing in Salthill. Make sure to stop off for some ice cream too!

Eyre Square

If sun bathing or having a casual drink isn't your thing bring your football or Frisbee to Eyre Square and have a game with friends.

Connemara

Road Trip! Get the gang together and head out to Spiddal for the day or if you fancy go deep into Connemara to Lettermullen, the beaches out there are just fabulous. On the way home you can stop in Clifden or Kylemore Abbey!

Water Sports

You can find amazing things to do when it's sunny like kayaking along the river, rowing or wind surfing. You can even go on kayaking tours in Galway! I know 'Give it a Go' kayaking allows you to do it.

Shopping

Having experience working in retail and shopping on sunny days, people are just so happy. I love chatting to customers when they come in with a smile on their face, simply because it's a beautiful day. On the other side of the counter, retail therapy is something that really works for me. My favourite thing to do on a sunny day is do a spot of shopping, followed by sitting outside a coffee shop. and then relaxing around the Spanish arch or the Claddagh.

Thank you Lauren for teaming up with me in this post, again you are insanely talented. So make sure you check out her Facebook and Instagram.
