What They Don't Tell You Before Getting Your Teeth Whitened - The White House Clinic Galway.

Last week I was kindly invited in to test the service The White House Teeth Whitening Clinic had to offer. I was treated to a one hour teeth whitening session where I was told my teeth would definitely be at least 5 shades whiter with zero sensitivity afterwards. I have heard many horror stories of teeth whitening disasters, from cracking teeth, to extreme sensitivity and pain.
However, I wasn't nervous that this was going to happen to me. Why? Because they use all natural products and no harmful chemicals!! In this post I will go through the procedure I had as well on letting you know what people don't tell you before whitening your teeth professionally and some tips on what to eat afterwards.
I've never gotten my teeth professionally whitened but I used a whitening strip one time as mom had some left over and I was intrigued. I don't even know the name of the brand (rookie mistake) and afterwards my teeth were so so sensitive and sore, so I was hesitant to try it again. However, knowing that The White House Clinic uses safe products I knew I was in good hands.

When I arrived to the White House Clinic I had to fill out a form of whether I smoke etc and then sign the consent form. I was brought into the room (as pictured below) and something was put in my moth to keep my mouth opened. The very kind nurse put lip balm on my lips as your lips will become very dry -however mine didn't with the amount of lip balm she put on. This was followed by protecting glasses (also pictured below).
She explained that there are three rounds of whitening gel to be applied for 15 mins at a time, resulting in 45 minutes of whitening treatment. and the other 15 mins is for a stain removal gel and of course your consultation.
The procedure was so relaxing as I was reclined on the chair (pictured below) with my legs resting on the foot-rest and watched TV. The LED technology as cited from White House Clinic is:

"The most powerful halogen light output available, clinically proven to provide superior results to LED and plasma arc systems LightBridge™ light technology provides high-powered whitening

. Dual-arch whitening features gentle, normal, and intense light-output settings for the perfect treatment setting with each individual patient; Single-tooth whitening option  included for precision, tailored treatment results. The advanced teeth whitening technology filtration system removes all harmful heat and ultraviolet output, ensuring patient safety and comfort."

**Word of Waring** I wasn't told this beforehand (I wish I had been told), when the treatment is completed, you will still have the mouth piece in -unknowingly, you will most definitely have accumulated a huge amount of saliva- when you get up to go over to the sink, keep your head up! If you look down expect a tonne of saliva to flow.. gross I know but it's the truth and it happened to me-morto! When taking it out at the sink it's pretty messy and you will be given a cup of water to clean out your mouth; hey presto, your teeth will be dazzling!

When I saw mine I was in love! I didn't have badly stained teeth beforehand but I saw a massive improvement, especially in my lower teeth. Below is a before and after shot, unfortunately they were taken in two different types of lighting, but a difference is absolutely evident!

 Before (LEFT) After (RIGHT)

For 24 hours after the procedure you cannot eat or drink coloured foods or drinks. You can only eat white foods or clear liquids. Those 24 hours were torture as I wanted all of the food. So I highly recommend eating a lot before you go in.
Here's a list of foods and drinks you can have:

Rice Krispies
White yogurt
Plain chicken
Crustless White bread- Not toast
White fish
White pasta
White rice
Egg whites
Tonic water
Clear alcohol e.g. Vodka, mixed with clear mixer e.g. white lemonade

If you are a smoker you mustn't smoke for the 24 hours afterwards, if you don't abide by these recommendations you will risk in staining your new pearly white teeth!

Overall I was very impressed with my experience in the White House Clinic in Galway. They are also based in other various locations like Swords and Dundrum in Dublin, Belfast and Edinburgh! I had no sensitivity, I felt nothing and I saw amazing results.

Verdict? - Highly Recommend!

  2. Hey, it was such a great share. I didn’t know all this but you have helped me a lot with everything. I would also be getting the whitening treatment from the dentist Redondo Beach so would like to ask all this you have mentioned here before agreeing to get the treatment.

  3. If you are searching for the best dental clinic to provide dental services you need, there are certain things you should know before you make a choice. Maintaining good oral health is as important as choosing the best clinic. I find a very good website for the Invisalign Ottawa, If you want you can visit this site. Thanks

  4. Dental equipment financing through leasing the equipment instead of buying them outright can help ease the financial situation of a new dental set-up with the necessary equipment needed to start and generate revenue. I find a very good website for the Pharmacy questions , If you want you can visit this site.

  5. Thank you very much for this useful article. I like it.

  6. Teeth-whitening kits can be a compelling and reasonable method for reestablishing our grin, without the related expenses of an in-medical procedure whitening treatment.
