The City of Murals - Dozza

So if you’ve ever admired the work of Banksy and love murals as much as I do, then 30 minutes from Bologna leads you to the small town of Dozza, a town covered (and I mean literally) in murals! I know, I’d also never heard about it before, but my friend Juliette had been going on about how much she wanted to go and my boyfriend also suggested the same so we all decided to make a trip there, and I can say it didn’t disappoint! 

Life As An English Teacher

As you probably already know by now, I have been teaching English for some time now. Starting in Catania, Sicily, then back to Galway, and now here in Bologna. I’ve been working here since October, it’s been 4 months already, which I genuinely can't believe. Time is absolutely flying! Now that I’m settled and in my element, I wanted to share my experience, how I got a job within literally a day of looking, and some advice on things I wish I had known before.

Breaking the norm of plain untailored black suits is exactly what I try to do in my work life. I don’t have a “uniform”, so I like to play around and experiment with my wardrobe to not appear as a “typical teacher”. I always try to look my best, as Coco Chanel said, "Dress shabbily and they remember the dress; dress impeccably and they remember the woman".

Our beauty routine is something I believe becomes more important as we grow. I remember when I was younger I had a shocking beauty routine that I wish, looking back, I would have known to take better care of my skin!

Guess Who's Back? Hello 2020!

It's hard to believe it's 2020, I remember exactly 20 years ago being home watching my father and brother go out to ring in the new millennium and I had to stay home, obviously green with envy, I mean why couldn't 5 year old me go out and have fun? 20 years later I am in Bologna and had the best New Year's Eve ever. Something completely different to what I've ever done. We went to Villaggio della Salute Più just outside Bologna, I can't wait to go back in the summer! Definitely something to check out if you want something fun to do here.
