Guess Who's Back? Hello 2020!

It's hard to believe it's 2020, I remember exactly 20 years ago being home watching my father and brother go out to ring in the new millennium and I had to stay home, obviously green with envy, I mean why couldn't 5 year old me go out and have fun? 20 years later I am in Bologna and had the best New Year's Eve ever. Something completely different to what I've ever done. We went to Villaggio della Salute Più just outside Bologna, I can't wait to go back in the summer! Definitely something to check out if you want something fun to do here.

Here's some photos of the evening:

I'm a huge believer in trying to set goals and try to better yourself for the year ahead. We all need a bit of fine tuning right? You can never stop improving and learning. This past year for me was probably the biggest rollercoaster of my life. So many ups and downs but looking back on it all I am so happy and blessed that it all unfolded the way it did. I mean the happiness I feel now wouldn't have happened if I never went through the darkness.

This year taught me to accept and be grateful for any mishaps that may happen in your life. It's all happening because something better is about to come. At the beginning of last year it felt like the ground was pulled from underneath me, but as it all happened I knew being calm and accepting it all would be beneficial because I knew something good was coming for me. And you know what? That something good did happen for me!

I'm currently sitting in Rodolfo café in Bologna on my lunch break from work. It's one of my favourite eco-friendly cafés here, they use plastic alternatives and biodegradable "plastic" cups for their free water, which is what we all want, right? And they also do brunch so it's a win win situation.

I'm teaching in Bologna now. Remember the first Italian city I ever lived in? Yup, I'm right back here again feeling like I'm where I'm supposed to be surrounded by the most beautiful souls. I'm working a lot but I feel blessed.

This year I have a few tasks I want to set for myself and I will write them below so I can obviously hold myself accountable if my lazy ass doesn't get around to it.

So here they are:

1. Get out of the city once a month.
2. Read more! I want to create a section on the blog to review some books.
3. Be more present.
4. Revamp the blog
5. Organise a big trip for the summer months
6. Spend more time with the people I love.
7. Reach 10k on Instagram (the year for believing in myself!)
8. Practise the act gratitude.
9. Get back into health and fitness.
10. Save money for my adulting life, just thinking of being an old age pensioner avoiding nursing homes lol.
