Staycation at Nox Hotel Galway

To start off 2018, Davide and I stayed in Nox Hotel Galway. It was a much needed getaway and I can say it was the perfect thing to begin the year! So thank you Caroline for the very generous invitation.
Nox is very easy to get to, as I'm from Galway the walk is nothing to me, but for someone who doesn't know Galway well, I would advise to get out your google maps as it's about a 15 minute walk from the centre, which in reality is nothing! If you've no internet then just get a taxi, it definitely wouldn't be expensive at all.

When I entered the hotel I was surrounded by the most amazing decor. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived, which didn't bother me as we wanted to have lunch first. We ate in Fork @ Nox, the hotel's restaurant. I got the soup and Davide got the burger and my god was it amazing! After that meal we know we were in for a treat for dinner!

We checked into our room after lunch at about 2:30pm into such a gorgeous room. One thing that I really appreciated was the wooden floors, it gave a real airy feel to the room. The bed was humongous and very comfortable, there was a Nespresso Machine (appreciation to all you coffee addicts out there), and there was conditioner YES conditioner in the shower! Hotels never have conditioner in the shower so I was so delighted to see it. I'm easily pleased if you can see.

Our room was very quite, something (noise) which never bothers me but I haven't had a room as quite as this one in probably forever! Nox is situated in such a strategic way that you can't hear any of the traffic in the area. So if you're a light sleeper you'll be glad to hear that.

In the evening we dined in Fork @ Nox again, and boy did we devour our meals. I got the duck legs with cranberry stuffing, potato and red cabbage. I never usually get duck but I was drawn to it. It was out of this world. I continued to tell Davide to stop eating his so he could taste mine! I was in disbelief, because recently it's quite hard to find good places to eat in Galway. Davide opted for the stake sandwich as the rib eye was finished. He loved it so much too. Ad he is Italian, let's just say he knows his food, and if the meals win in his eyes it's definitely good!

The next morning we managed to wake up for some breakfast, they had so much on offer, I opted for the full Irish which was on display in buffet style, as well as some of the pastries, god I love pastries and the waiter also kindly asked if I would like something that the kitchen could prepare for me, so I chanced my arm and asked for pancakes! They were gorgeous, so I left a very happy girl!

We were so sad to be checking out and wished we had another night there, there's nothing like a stay-cation away from all the hustle and bustle of daily life. Prices for Nox Hotel are so cheap, especially for what you're offered. Definitely one of the best hotels I've stayed in, in a very long time and I know I will definitely be back!

*although I was invited to stay in Nox, all views and opinions are genuine*
